Rica Rica is the leaf of a shrub of the same name, growing no taller than 1.5 meters. It carries notes of many spices — primarily mentholated, with hints of rosemary, basil, bay leaf, yerba mate, and more. Because so many flavors are found in a single leaf, it can be used in both savory and sweet dishes.
Ideal for use with lamb, seafood, pasta, tomato sauce, and chocolate. In cocktails, it pairs beautifully with Pisco Sour.
This spice is hand-harvested by Aymara and Atacameño communities at over 3,000 meters above sea level.
